Liberal Arts courses are a required and integral part of an education at the Fashion Institute of Technology. They are designed to broaden students' understanding of the humanities, to strengthen critical thinking and communication skills, to develop their knowledge of the natural and social sciences, and to prepare them to function effectively in a culturally diverse world. As with FIT's programs in art and design, and business and technology, the School of Liberal Arts makes use of outstanding resources and top-notch facilities, such as a state-of-the-art language laboratory, and the Academic Skills Center, where students can receive tutoring in any area of study.
